FRIDAY, June 14, 1861.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Father Sourin.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:

Messrs. Kilbourn, Speaker, Durant, Morgan, Rasin, Med-
ders, Mackubin, Briscoe, Parran, Compton, Burgess, Ford,
Denison, Renshaw, Jones, of Talbot, Chaplain, Dennis, of
Somerset, Stanford, Lawson, Mclntire, Maxwell, Miller,
Bryan, Jones, of P. G., Starkey, Jacobs, Landing, Kesslcr,
Claggett, Routzahn, Johnson, Salmon, Naill, Straughn,
Goldsborough, Warfield, Brune, Winans, Pitts, Harrison,
Thomas, Wallis, Sangston, Morfit, Scott, Wilson, Bayless,
McCoy, Eakle, Fiery, Stake, Gordon, Barnard, McCleary,
Roop, Mills.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.
Mr. Salmon presented the following:

Petition of E. W. Mobley, J. E. Bronwell and thirty-
three others, citizens of Frederick county, against the adjourn-
ment of the Legislature.

Mr. Salmon, from the select committee, reported favorably
upon a Senate bill, entitled,

An act to authorize the county commissioners for Frederick
county to build a new court house for Frederick county, to
borrow money on the credit of the county to issue bonds for
the payment of the same, and to levy taxes on the assessable
property of the county to redeem said bonds, and to pay the
interest thereon.

On motion of Mr. Salmon,

The rules were suspended, and the bill read the second,
and by special order the third times, and passed by yeas and
nays, as follow:
