BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

June 11, 1861.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message requesting the return of
the bill entitled, an act to amend the XYIIIth article of the
Code of Public General Laws, &c., and herewith return the
same.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Maxwell,

Leave was granted to the Cecil county delegation to intro-
duce a bill to make valid 'the title of Benjamin Hanna, to
certain lands situated in Cecil county, devised to him by his
father, John Hanna.

Mr. McCleary proposed the following:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

June 11,1861.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable body,
to appoint a committee of three on the part of this House and
two on the part of the Senate, to take into consideration the
pay and mileage of the members of this General Assembly.

We have appointed Messrs. McCleary, Maxwell and Bar-

nard, on the part of the House.

Mr. Wallis, chairman of the committee on Federal Rela-
tions, made the following report:
