TUESDAY, June 11, 1861.

The House met and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Jones.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Kilbourn, Speaker, Durant, Morgan, Rasin, Med-
ders, Welch, Mackubin, Briscoe, Parran, Compton, Burgess,
Ford, Denison, Quinlan, Renshaw, Jones, of Talbot, Chap-

lain, Stanford, Lawson, Keene, Holland, Mclntire, Maxwell,
Miller, Bryan, Wootton, Jones, of Prince George's, Legg,
Starkey, Landing, Kessler, Claggett, Routzahn, Salmon,
Naill, Straughn, Goldsborough, Warfield, Brune, Winans,
Pitts, Harrison, Thomas, Wallis, Sangston, Morfit, Scott,
Wilson, Baylcss, McCoy, Brining, Fiery, Stake, Griffith,
Gordon, Barnard, McCleary, Gorsuch, Mills, Turner, Brown.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Straughn presented a petition of one hundred and
eight voters of Caroline county, asking the Legislature of
Maryland, now in session, to adjourn forthwith sine die;

Which was referred to the joint select committee on ad-
journment.

Mr. McIntire proposed the following:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

June 11, 1861.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your Hon-
orable body, that both Houses of the Legislature adjourn to-
day at 12 o'clock, P. M., sine die,
