elected by the House of Delegates, and has incurred a large
expense in his endeavors to carry into effect its just action and
declaration, he is properly entitled to be paid the salary of
said office, and therefore prays your honorable body to order
and direct the Treasurer to pay the same, as an indemnity for
the expenses so incurred by him, and that you will take such
other action in the premises as may be necessary to place him
in the office so wrongfully withheld, and to which he is so
justly and legally entitled. And as in duty bound, your
memoralist will ever pray, &c.,

On motion of Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted to a select committee to withdraw the
bill relative to wild fowl, for the purpose of amendment in
committee.
