quest in the last will and testament of William H, Dulany
to the vestry of St. Peter's church, in the town of Salisbury.

On motion of Mr. Mills,

Leave was granted to the committee on Claims to bring in
a bill to compensate Wm. Segafoose, Sheriff of Carroll coun-
ty, for arresting Josiah Frock, an escaped prisoner in the
State of Pennsylvania.

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

Leave was granted to the Caroline county delegation to re-
port a bill legalizing the acts of Wm. Wix, therein named.

On motion of Mr. Maxwell,

Leave was granted to report a bill for an amendment to ar-
ticle VIII of the Code of Public Local Laws, so far as relates
to the powers granted to the President and Commissioners
of the village of Port Deposit by adding thereto the following
act of incorporation.

On motion of Mr. Straughn,

Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary to
introduce a bill to secure to the heirs of Peter Sylivan,
negro, late of Caroline county, deceased, all the real and
personal estate left by said Peter Sylivan.

On motion of Mr. Scott,

Leave was granted to the committee on Military Affairs to
bring in a bill entitled, an act to authorize the Treasurer of
the State of Maryland, upon the warrant of the Comptroller,
to pay unto William J. Kellinger, Quarter Master, and acting
Division Inspector of the First Light Division of the Maryland
Volunteers, the sum of money herein mentioned, for services
rendered by the said volunteers from the 19th of April to the
7th of May 1861, in and about the city of Baltimore, by the
said division.

Mr. Naill presented two petitions from certain citizens of
Frederick and Carroll counties, in relation to an adjournment
sine die of the Legislature;

Which were severally read and referred to the select com-
mittee.

Mr. Gordon, from the Judiciary committee, reported fa-
vorably upon the bill entitled, an act for the relief of Mat-
thew Burton, of Baltimore county;
