Mr. Naill presented several petitions from citizens of Fred-
erick and Carroll counties in relation to an adjournment sine
die of the Legislature;

Which were severally referred to the select committee.

Mr. Routzahn presented the petition of four hundred citi-
zens of Frederick county upon the same subject;

Which was referred to the same committee.
On motion of Mr. Barnard.

Leave was granted to the Allegany county delegation to
bring in a bill to legalize the erection of gates on a road in
Allegany county.

Oa motion of Mr. Chaplain,

Leave was granted to the committee on Military Affairs to
introduce a bill providing for the re-payment of money ex-
pended by Talbot county for the purpose of repairing and
cleaning the arms deposited, in the State Armory at Easton.

On motion of Mr. Straughn,

Leave was granted to the committee on Federal Relations
to introduce a bill to make valid a payment of $250 dollars
paid by Wm. Delehay, late Sheriff of Caroline county, to
Joseph E. Muse, the then acting Attorney for the State of
Maryland.

Mr. Legg offered the following order:

Ordered, That this House deems it entirely inexpedient to
entertain any local legislation during this, its Extra Session,
or any general, except such as the public exigencies impera-
tively demand,

Which was rejected by yeas and nays, as follow:
