The House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an
act to ratify an amendment to the Constitution of the United
States ;

Said bill being upon its third reading,

Mr. Compton moved to lay the bill upon the table.

Mr. Chaplain moved to take up the order of the day ;

Which was not concurred in.
