1861.] OF THE SENATE, 317

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
bill:

A bill, entitled, An act making appropriation for the payment
of the expenses of the Extra Session of the General Assembly of
Maryland, for the year 1861;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee
on Claims.

On motion of Mr. McKaig,

A bill, entitled, An act to repeal sections 880 and 881, of the
4th Article of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to
the collection of taxes, and the limitation of the time therefor;
and to substitute for said sections the following sections, extend-
ing the time of such limitations ————,

Was taken up, read the third time, and passed by yeas and
nays as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Brooke, President; Lynch,

Blackistone, McKaig,

Bradley, Miles,

Duvall, Nuttle,

Franklin, Smith,

Grahame, Stone,

Gardiner, Townsend,

Goldsborough, of Talbot; Watkins,

Heckart, Whitaker—19.
Kimmel,

NEGATIVE—NONE.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. McKaig, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, re-
ported favorably the following bills:

A bill, entitled, An act to ratify the proceedings of the Circuit
Court for Allegany county, as a court of equity, appointing Wm.
Walsh, trustee, to complete the collection of State and county
taxes for the years 1860 and 1861, and perform the other duties
of collector, in place of John Callan, late collector, deceased;

Which was read the second time.

On motion of Mr. McKaig,
Three-fourths of all the Senators concurring,
