Ordered, That Benjamin Fawcett, clerk to the Engrossing
Committee, be paid by the Committee on Claims for the time he
was engaged in attendance on said committee during the recess,
of the Legislature.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, from a select committe, reported
favorably the following bill:

A bill, entitled, An act to amend the Code of Public Local
Laws, Article 19, section 136, relating to the boundaries of the
town of Princess Ann, in Somerset county, by repealing said
section 136, and inserting in lieu thereof the following————;

Which was read the second time.

A bill, entitled, An act to repeal the 46th section of Article 8th
of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to the collection of
taxes, fines and forfeitures in Chesapeake City;

Was taken up, read the third time, and passed by yeas and
nays as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE,

Messrs. Brooke, President; Heckart,

Bradley, Miles,

Duvall, Stone,

Franklin, Townsend,

Grahame, Watkins,

Goldsborough, of Talbot; Whitaker—12.

NEGATIVE—NONE.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
Mr. Miles submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be and they are
hereby directed to pay to such of the members of the Senate as
may be detained after the adjournment of the present session on
official business, mileage and the usual per diem, for such time
as they may be detained.

Mr. Bradley moved to strike out "mileage."

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows:
