A bill, entitled, An act to repeal the 46th section of Article 8,
of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to the collection of
taxes, fines and forfeitures, in Chesapeake city;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Heckart, from the Committee on Militia, reported the fol-
lowing :

A bill, entitled, An act to provide for the payment of a sum of
money to Capt. Gabriel Becklie, of the United Guards of Fred-
erick county, for services rendered under order of the Governor;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. McKaig moved to suspend the rules, in order to give the
bill a third reading.

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Franklin, Townsend,
Grahame, Watkins,

So the Senate refused to suspend the rules.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following :

Resolution in relation to the Library:

Which was read and referred to a select committee, consisting
of Messrs. McKaig, Smith and Franklin.

A bill, entitled, An act to amend sections 91 and 124, of Arti-
cle 10, of the Code of Public Local Laws for Dorchester county,
relating to the division of election districts in said county, and
apportioning the number of justices of the peace and constables
in said election districts;

Which was read the first time, and referred to a select com-
mitttee, consisting of Messrs, Smith, McKaig and Whitaker,
