MONDAY, June 24th, 1861.

On motion of Mr. Townsend,

A call of the Senate was ordered, when the following Senators
answered to their names:

Messrs. Blackistone, Duvall, Franklin, Grahame, Gardiner,
Heckart, Townsend—7.

The Sergeant-at-Arras returned, and reported that he had noti-
fied the absent members that their attendance was required at the
Senate chamber.

On motion of Mr. Whitaker,

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be requested to pay
to Mrs. M. A. Schleigh six dollars and fifty cents, for ice furnished
Senate, from June 4th to June 25th, 1861.

Mr. Blackistone, from a select committee, reported the follow-
ing:

A bill, entitled, An act to divide the Western Polls of District
No. 2, in Frederick county, into two polls;

Which was read the second time.

A bill, entitled, An act to authorize the Commissioners of Alle-
gany county to pay George L. Layman for certain services ren-
dered as constable,

Was taken up, read the third time, and passed by yeas and
nays as follows:
