On motion of Mr. Miles,

A bill, entitled, An act to repeal the 29th Article of the Code
of Public General Laws, and the proviso to the 33rd section of
the 5th Article of the said Code, relating to stay of executions
and to extend the time for enforcing executions of judgments,

Was taken up.

Mr. Smith submitted the following

AMENDMENT :

SECTION 5. And be it further Enacted, That all judgment
creditors shall have power and authority to issue executions on
judgments that have heretofore been rendered, or that shall here-
after be rendered, anything in the said original act to the con-
trary notwithstanding; which executions shall be stayed only
upon the giving security by the defendants in said judgments as
provided for in the first section of this act, or by giving said
security before the issuing of said executions;

Which was adopted.

Said bill was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays
as follows:
