The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
bill, entitled,

An act to repeal the 41st, 42d, 43rd, 46th, 47th, 48th and
112th sections of the 63rd Article of the Code of Public General
Laws, and the 741st, 742d and 743rd sections of the 4th Article
of the Code of Public Local Laws of the State, in relation
to the uniform and militia and volunteer forces in the several
counties of this State and in the city of Baltimore, and for the
custody, control and delivery of arms heretofore delivered to the
officers and men under them ;

Which was read the first time, referred to the Committee on
Militia, and ordered to be printed.

On motion of Mr. Dashiell,

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be and they are here-
by directed to pay to such of the members of the Senate as were
detained here after the adjournment of the May session, and who
may be detained after the close of the present session, on official
business, mileage and the usual per diem, for such time as they
were or may be detained.

A bill, entitled, An act appropriating a sum of money to the
Chippawa Tribe, No. 19, Improved Order of Red Men,

Was taken up, read the third time, and passed by yeas and
nays as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE:

Messrs. Brooke, President; McKaig,

Blackistone, Miles,

Dashiell, Smith,

Franklin, Stone,

Heckart, Townsend,

Kimmel, Watkins,

Lynch, Whitaker—14.

NEGATIVE—NONE.

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

A bill, entitled, An act appropriating a sum of money to com-
pensate Joseph E. Bateman, Sheriff of Harford county, for extra
official services rendered under authority of the Governor,

Was taken up, read the third time, and rejected by yeas and nays
