EVENING SESSION.

WEDNESDAY, June 19, 1861.

Mr. Kimmel presented the petition of J. Henry Selman;

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Federal
Relations.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, moved an adjournment.
The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Brooke, President; Kimmel,

Dashiell, Lynch,

Goldsborough, of Talbot; Townsend—6.

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Blackistone, Miles,

Duvall, Smith,

Franklin, Stone,

Heckart, Watkins,

McKaig, Whitaker—10.

So the Senate refused to adjourn.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following :

A bill, entitled, An act to enable A. Lingan Jarrett, Comptrol-
ler of Maryland, to enter into bond and qualify;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee
on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill, entitled, An act to repeal section 226th of Article 2d
of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to weights and mea-
sures, so far as said law applies to the counties of Frederick,
Washington and Allegany,

Was taken up.

Mr. Stone submitted the following

AMENDMENT :

In last line after " Carroll," add " Montgomery;"

Which was adopted.
