212 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [ June 18,

A bill, entitled, An act to authorize the affidavit required to
mortgages before sale, by Article 4, section 783, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, to be made before persons herein mentioned;

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates returned the following
bills:

A bill, entitled, An act to legalize and make valid the acts,
doings and proceedings of the Burgess and Commissioners of
Uniontown, in Carroll county;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

A bill, entitled, An act to legalize and make valid a deed from
Wm. R. Steele, Executor of Joseph Steele, late of Carroll county,
deceased, to John T. Steele;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

Mr. McKaig, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably the following:

A bill, entitled, An act to make valid the last will and testa-
ment of a certain John Hanna, late of the State of Pennsylvania,
deceased;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Kimmel, from a select committee, reported the following:

A bill, entitled, A supplement to Article 93, section 177, of
the Code of Public General Laws; '

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee
on Judicial Proceedings.

Mr. Kimmel, from a select committee, reported the following:

A bill, entitled, An act appropriating a sum of money to the
Chippawa Tribe, No. 19, Improved Order of Red Men;

Which was read the first time, by special order, the sec-
ond time, and ordered to be engrossed.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

June 18th, 1861.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message proposing the appointment of
a Committee of Conference on the subject of pay and mileage of
members, and respectfully concur therein.
