On motion of Mr. Miles,

A bill, entitled, An act to amend Article 66 of the Code of
Public General Laws, relating to negroes, by repealing the 9th
section thereof, and inserting in lieu thereof the following sec-
tion ————, relating to the apprehension fees for Fugitive
Slaves,

Was taken up, read the third time, and rejected by yeas and
nays as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Blackistone, Heckart,

Bradley, Miles,

Duvall, Stone,

Franklin, Townsend—8.

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Goldsborough,of Talbot; Nuttle,

Kimmel, Smith,

McKaig, Watkins—6.

Mr. Duvall moved to re-consider the vote by which the bill was
rejected;

Which was adopted.

A bill, entitled, An act adding an additional supplement to an
act, entitled, An act to incorporate the Metropolitan Railroad
Company, passed January session, 1853,

Was taken up, read the second time, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading,
