Mr. Smith presented the following memorial:

Of Dr. John Swipe, Dr. Jackson Piper, Tobias Rudisell, and
one hundred and sixty other citizens of Carroll county, praying
the immediate adjournment of the Legislature sine die;

Which was read, and laid on the table.

On motion of Mr. Duvall,

Leave was granted Messrs. Duvall, Smith, and Franklin to
report a bill to change the name of Anna Eliza Cotton, to Anna
Eliza Dickinson.

On motion of Mr. Kimmel,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Kimmel, Smith, and Duvall to
report a bill to authorize the County Commissioners of Frederick
county to build a new Court House for Frederick county, to bor-
row money on the credit of the county, to issue bonds for the
payment of the same, and to levy taxes on the assessable pro-
perty of the county to redeem said bonds, and to pay the interest
thereon.

Mr. Bradley submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

June 8th, 1861.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We respectfully ask of your Honorable Body to return the bill,
entitled,

An act to amend the 18th Article of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, by adding thereto sections giving to the Clerks of the
Circuit Courts, and the Superior Court or Baltimore City, and
the Court of Common Pleas, power to take supersedeas of
judgments and decrees rendered in said courts.

WM. KILGOUR,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Dele-
gates.

Mr. Heckart submitted the following:

Ordered, by the Senate, That the Governor be requested to
send to the Senate a list of all military and civil appointments
made by him to any military or civil office, since the 10th day of
