Which was read the first time, and referred to a select commit-
tee, consisting of Messrs. Grahame, Bradley, and Heckart.

On motion of Mr. Heckart,

Leave was granted the Committee on Militia to report a bill
to compensate that portion of the Sixteenth Regiment of Mary-
land, Militia, which, in obedience to an order from His Excel-
lency Governor Hicks, performed guard duty at the State
Armory, in Frederick, from the 22d day of April to the 11th day
of May, 1861, inclusive.

On motion of Mr. Watkins,

Leave was granted Messrs. Watkins, Blackistone, and Smith
to report a bill for the relief of W. A. Glanville.

Mr. Lynch, from the Committee on Corporations, reported the
following:

A bill, entitled, A further additional supplement to an act. enti-
tled, an act to establish and incorporate a Medical and Chirur-
gical Faculty or Society in the State of Maryland;

Which was read the second time.

A bill, entitled, An act for the relief of the Baltimore and Lib-
erty Turnpike Company;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Lynch, from a select committee, reported the following:

A bill, entitled, An act for the relief of Mathew Burton, of
Baltimore county;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, from the Committee on Finance,
reported favorably on the following:

A bill, entitled, An act to amend the 4th Article of the Code of
Public Local Laws, relating to the city of Baltimore, by repeal-
ing the 50th section of said Article, relating to the salary of the

Overseer of the Almshouse of Baltimore city;

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, from the Committee on Finance,
reported favorably on the following:

A bill, entitled, An act to pay Samuel Jackson a certain sum
of money, for filling an order under a resolution of the General
Assembly;

Which was read the second time.
