the matters, facts and things in the aforegoing memorial contained,
are true as stated.

W. MAHONY.

Received, June 4th, 1861, of O. Horsey, Esq., Commissioner
of the State of Maryland to the State of Virginia, one thousand
six hundred and ninety-three dollars and seventy-five cents,
($1,693.75,) the amount allowed by the State of Virginia, in sat-
isfaction of the within claim, and which I hereby receive in full
satisfaction and discharge of said within stated claim.

CHARLES F. WENNER.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Federal
Relations.

Mr. Lynch moved to have two thousand copies printed.
Mr. Watkins offered as an amendment:
One thousand copies.

Mr. Duvall offered as an amendment to the amendment:
Five hundred copies.

The question was then taken upon the original motion, and
determined in the negative.

The question was then taken upon the amendment.

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Brooke, President; Lynch,

Blackistone, McKaig,

Goldsborough, of Talbot; Watkins,

Heckart, Whitaker—8.

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Bradley, Kimmel,

Duvall, Nuttle,

Franklin, Smith,

Grahame, Stone—8.

So the Senate rejected the amendment.

The question then recurred upon the amendment to the amend-
ment;
