Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Yellott, on the part of the select committee, reported fa-
vorably on House bill, entitled, An act to confirm and ratify an
ordinance of the Mayor anfl City Council of Baltimore, entitled
an ordinance to appropriate five hundred thousand dollars, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, for the defence of the city
against any damage that may arise out of the present crisis, ap-
proved on the 20th of April, 1861.

Read a second time, and by special order, the third time, and
passed by yeas and nays as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Brooke, President; McKaig, Smith, Yellott, Watkins,
Townsend, Bradley, Dashiell, Goldsborough, of Talbot; Golds-
borough, of Dorchester; Blackistone, Whitaker, Nuttie, Kim-
mel, Miles, Duvall—16.

NEGATIVE——NONE,

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

On motion of Mr. Townsend,
The Senate adjourned until Monday morning at 10 o'clock.

MONDAY, April 29th, 1861.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, asked leave to introduce a bill
relative to the schools of Talbot county, and to repeal certain
sections of the Public Local Law relative to said county.
