So the resolutions were adopted.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, on the part of the Committee on
Finance, reported favorably on the bill, entitled,

An act making an appropriation for the Maryland Peniten-
tiary.

Mr. Lynch moved a call of the Senate, when the following
Senators answered to their names:

Messrs. Blackistone, Bradley, Duvall, Franklin, Gardiner,
Goldsborough, of Talbot, Heckart, Kimmel, Lynch, McKaig,
Miles, Nuttle, Smith, Stone, Watkins, and Yellott—16.

On motion of Mr. Kimmel,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
The question was then taken on the passage of the bill.
The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows:

An act to amend the sixty-third article of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to the Enrollment and Drafting of the
Militia,

Was taken up.
