ROBINS, THOMAS (1672-1721). BORN: in 1672
in St. Peter's Parish, Talbot County. NATIVE: sec-

Blossom," Talbot County, by 1703/4; in Oxford,

FATHER: George Robins (1635-1694), who im-
migrated in 1671 and was a Gent, upon arrival.
Robins resided at "Job's Content" in Talbot
County, and was manager of a plantation venture
with Thomas Robins (1640-1700). An attorney,
merchant, and planter, Robins served as a justice
of Talbot County from 1685 to 1689, as coroner
of Talbot County from 1677 to 1689, and as a
vestryman of St. Peter's Church, Talbot County.
He was a strong opponent of the Protestant As-
sociators in 1689. Robins married first, (full name
unknown), of England. MOTHER. Margaret, widow
of Nicholas Goldsborough (ca. 1640-1670),
daughter of Abraham Howes. BROTHERS: George;

(1711-1778); Charles Goldsborough (1707-1767);
and William Goldsborough (1709-1760). ADDI-
TIONAL COMMENT: Thomas Robins (1672-1721)
and Thomas Robins (1640-1700) were contem-
poraries in Talbot County. The former was re-
ferred to as "junior" to distinguish him from the
latter, who was called "senior." Their kinship is
assumed by local historians, but consensus on the
degree of relationship is lacking. It is probable
that George Robins (1635-1694), the father of
Thomas Robins (1672-1721), was first cousin to
Thomas Robins (1640-1700). MARRIED first, on
February 3, 1696, Susanna (?-by 1704), daughter
of Thomas Vaughan (?-1684) and wife Susanna
(?-1699). Susanna Robins was the granddaugh-
ter of Robert Vaughan (1597-ca. 1668/69). Her
brother was Thomas. Her sister was Jane, who
married (first name unknown) Curtis. MARRIED
second, on December 6, 1704, Elizabeth (?-1720),
widow of William Allen. Elizabeth was the
daughter of Maj. John Standley and wife Judith
Goldsborough, who was Robins' half sister. CHIL-
DREN. SONS. George Robins (1697-1742); Thomas
(1705-1718); William (1709-by 1761); John (1709-
ca. 1740), who married on July 9, 1730, Mary
Ann, daughter of Foster Turbutt (1679-1720/21);
Lambert (1712-1718); and Standley (1715-1742),
who married on January 21, 1741, Sarah, daugh-
ter of Nicholas Goldsborough (ca. 1689-1766).
