Matthias Vanderheyden (?-1729), and John
Thompson (?-1701). She subsequently married Ro-
ger Larramore (?-1721), and finally, Henry Rip-
pin. Her brother was Ephraim Augustus Herman
(1683-1734/35). Her cousins were Henry Wardtf-
1734); Richard Thompson (ca. 1680-by 1775); and
Augustine Thompson (1691-ca. 1738/39). CHIL-
DREN. SONS: Thomas (1703/4-1734); James (1711-
1734); Peregrine (1711-1747), who married Mary,
daughter of Francis Holland and wife Susanna
Utie. DAUGHTERS: Mary (1705-?); Mary (1709-?),
who married in 1729 Thomas Henderson; and Sa-
rah (1713-1757), who married first, Thomas Hol-
land, son of William Holland (?-1732), and sec-

FRISBY, WILLIAM (by 1664-1713). BORN: by
1664 in Virginia; younger son. IMMIGRATED: by
1665 as a minor with his father from Virginia. RE-
SIDED: in Baltimore County; Kent County. FAM-
ILY BACKGROUND. FATHER: James Frisby (?-
1674), who immigrated to Virginia with his family
in 1654. He owned 600 acres in Lower Norfolk
County, Virginia, and eventually acquired 1,950
acres in Maryland. He was a planter, merchant,
and justice of Baltimore County from 1665 to
1674. MOTHER: Mary. BROTHERS: James Frisby
(ca. 1651-1704); Thomas. MARRIED first, in 1684
Mary (?-1699), daughter of Symon Carpenter.
MARRIED second, Rachel (?-1703). MARRIED
third, Ann (?-1721). CHILDREN. SONS: William
Frisby (1684-1738), who married Jane, daughter
of John Thompson (?-1701); James (1685-1721);
Richard (?-1703); Thomas (?-1711); and Stephen

CAL OFFICES: justice, Kent County, 1685-1689
(quorum, 1688-1689), 1693 (refused to take the
required oath), 1694-1697 (president), 1701/2 (re-

Kent County, 1693-1706, 1711-1713. STANDS ON
PUBLIC/PRIVATE ISSUES: opposed the revolution of

FULLER, WILLIAM (?-by 1695) IMMIGRATED:
in 1651 as a free adult with his family, probably
from Virginia. RESIDED: in Broad Neck Hundred,
Anne Arundel County; left Maryland probably by
1664; in Barbados by 1671; settled in South Caro-
lina in 1678. MARRIED Sarah, daughter of Nicho-
las Martiau (1592-1657), a French Protestant,
naturalized in England, who immigrated to Vir-
ginia in 1620 as an agent for the earl of
Huntington, and served as a Virginia burgess in
1632, and as a justice of York County, Virginia,
from 1633 to 1657. CHILDREN. SON: William
(1673-1732), a burgess in South Carolina in 1712.
DAUGHTERS Elizabeth (ca. 1655-?), who married
(first name unknown) Cattell; probably Maryann;
and probably Belinda. PRIVATE CAREER. EDUCA-
TION: literate. RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION: Protestant;
Quaker by 1657. SOCIAL STATUS AND ACTIVITIES:
probably left Virginia because of religious persecu-
tion; called a captain at his first appearance in
Maryland records; quickly assumed leadership of
the Protestant forces in the colony. OCCUPA-
