Prince George's County after 1695. FAMILY BACK-
GROUND. FATHER: James Beale. MARRIED in 1668
Ruth, daughter of Richard Moore. CHILDREN.
SONS: Ninian (1669-by 1717/18); Charles (1672-
1740); John (1674-?); Thomas; and George (1695-
1780), who married Elizabeth (1699-1748), daugh-
ter of Thomas Brooke (ca. 1659-1730/31). DAUGH-
TERS: Hester (Esther), who married Joseph Belt
(ca. 1680-1761); Mary; Rachel; and Sarah (?-
1734), who married Samuel Magruder (1654-

free by 1672; planter; innkeeper in the 1680s; mer-

Lower House, St. Mary's County, 1697/98-1700,
