probably only son. NATIVE: probably second gen-
eration. RESIDED: in Annapolis and on his planta-
tion, "Norwood's Beale," in Anne Arundel
County. FAMILY BACKGROUND. FATHER: probably
Thomas Beale (?-1713). MOTHER: Elizabeth. SIS-
TER: Elizabeth, who married Rev. Henry Jennings,
rector of William and Mary Parish in St. Mary's
County from 1706 to 1714. MARRIED on August
19, 1708, Elizabeth (1688-1753), daughter of An-
drew Norwood (?-1701), of Anne Arundel
County, and wife Elizabeth Howard. Her brother
was Andrew. Her sisters were Ann; Hannah; and
(first name unknown). CHILDREN. SON: Thomas
(1714-1717). DAUGHTERS: Elizabeth (1711-?),
who married first, in 1729 William Nicholson, a
merchant, and second, Richard Dorsey; Ann
(1716/17-?), who married Thomas Rutland.

1709-1805); and Vachel Denton (ca. 1696-1752).

(Accounts 1-Cv; Aggrievances 1-Cv; discharged
during convention for accepting an office "of trust
