Joint Resolution requesting the passage of
a bill now pending before Congress to restore
William C. Spencer, late a Captain in the
Army of the United States, to his rank in said
Army.

WHEREAS William C. Spencer, late a Captain
in the Army of the United States, has been

deprived of his commission as a Captain in
said Army, as is fully set forth by the peti-
tion of said Spencer, accompanied by a re-
port from the Committee on Military Affairs
of the 46th Congress; and

Preamble.

WHEREAS a bill is now pending before Congress
to restore said William C. Spencer to his
position as Captain aforesaid; therefore,

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Senators from this State

be instructed, and the Representatives re-
quested, to use all proper and honorable
means to secure the passage of said bill.
