find owning a freehold estate or leasehold
property for a term exceeding two years
within the limits of said town, shall, on the
first Wednesday in June, in each and every
year, elect a Commissioner, who shall hold his
office for five years in the place of the Com-
missioner whose term of office has expired.
SEC. 6. That all elections for Commissioners
of said town shall be held at such place within

the limits of said town as the Commissioners
of the town shall designate and provide; and
the Commissioners of said town, or a majority
of them, shall be Judges of said election,
and the proceedings thereof shall be recorded
under their direction.
SEC. 7. That every person elected a Com-
missioner shall, before he enters upon the
duties of his office, make oath before a Justice

of the Peace that he will diligently and faith-
fully, without favor, partiality or prejudice,
perform the duties of a Commissioner of said
town a certificate of such qualification shall
be returned by the Justice to the Commis-
sioners and be filed and recorded among their
proceedings.
SEC. 8. That every Commissioner, before he
proceeds to act as Judge of Election, shall

make oath that he will faithfully and impar-
tially permit every person to vote at such
election who shall be qualified to vote; and
that he will not suffer any person to vote at
such election who shall not, in his judgment,
be qualified to vote under this act.
SEC. 9. That if any vacancy shall happen in
the office of Commissioner by death, resigna-

tion, removal or otherwise, the remaining Com-
missioners at the next regular meeting, shall
elect a Commissioner to serve until the next
election, who shall take the same oath as
other Commissioners, and at the next election
the qualified voters shall elect a person to fill
said vacancy.
