LAWS OF MARYLAND.

re-enact section twenty-nine of chapter one
hundred and fifty-one of the act of eighteen
hundred and seventy-two, entitled an act to
incorporate the town of Crisfield, in Somerset
county, and the act of eighteen hundred and
seventy-eight, chapter fifteen, repealing and
re-enacting the same, be and the same are
hereby repealed and amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows :

Corporation.

SEC. 2. That the inhabitants of the town of
Crisfield, in Somerset county, are hereby made
and declared a body corporate, with all privi-
leges of a body corporate, by the name of the
Commissioners of Crisfield, and by that name
may sue and be sued, have and use a common
seal, and have perpetual succession.

SEC. 3. That the said Commissioners shall
be five in number, and each Commissioner
shall hold his office for five years, unless
sooner vacated by death, resignation, removal

or otherwise, and any person to be eligible as
a Commissioner, must be the owner of a
freehold or leasehold estate within the limits
of said town, and must have resided in the
State one year, and have resided or carried on
their principal business or occupation within
the town limits six months preceding his or
their election.

Term.

SEC. 4. That the persons who constitute the
Board of Commissioners at the time of the
passage of this act shall continue to serve in
such capacity until the terms of office .for
which they have respectively been elected,
under chapter one hundred and fifty-one of
the act of eighteen hundred and seventy-two,
shall have expired.

Qualification.

SEC 5. That the male citizens of said town
over twenty-one years of age, who have re-
sided therein twelve months preceding any
election, and all male citizens over twenty-one
years of age residing in the county of Somerset,
