SEC. 23. And be it enacted, That if any Judge
or Clerk of Election shall fraudulently make
any false certificate of the result of such elec-
tion, or withhold, conceal or destroy any such
certificate of any election returns, tally lists
or poll-book, or take unlawfully from the cus-
tody of the Judges of Election, or destroy any
baliot box, or withdraw therefrom illegally

any ballot or ballots which have been de-
posited therein, or attempt or commit any vio-
lence against any person or persons having
lawful charge of the same, or against any
Judge or Clerk of Election in the discharge of
his duty as such, he shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor and punished, upon conviction, by a
fine of not more than one hundred dollars or
by imprisonment of not more than thirty days.
SEC. 24. And be it enacted, That the failure
to make any of the publications by this act

required to be made, except the publication
required by section three, shall not effect the
validity of any election held under the terms
of this act, but shall subject the person whose
duty it is to make such publication, and who
fails so to do, to the penalties prescribed by
section twenty-two of this act.

Expenses.

SEC. 25. And be it enacted, That no expense
shall be incurred by the city of Baltimore in
the conduct of any elections held under the
provisions of this act.

Effective.
|
SEC. 26. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
