LAWS OF MARYLAND.

dredge in any creek, cove, river or inlet in said
county, nor within any of the waters desig-
nated by said County Commissioners as above
mentioned, until said stakes be removed and
said notice be given as aforesaid; and the said
County Commissioners shall have power to
apply the proceeds of said licenses of all ves-
sels over ten tons, to maintaining and replen-
ishing the oyster beds within the limits of
said county, for the use of the citizens of said
county, who ma-y be duly licensed as herein-
after provided; and the said County Commis-
sioners shall have power to make such regula-
tions and designations in regard to grounds in
the waters of said county, for planting or sow-
ing shells for the propagation of oysters as

aforesaid, as are necessary and proper, and
shall mark said grounds by stakes, marks or
buoys, and shall give notice by public adver-
tisements when the oysters growing thereon
may be taken as hereinbefore set forth, but
they shall incur no expense beyond the reve-
nue derived from said licenses and fines.

SEC. 95. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Somerset county, upon application of any citi-
zen of Somerset county, being the owner of a
canoe or other vessel, shall issue a license to
such citizen authorizing him to take or catch,
oysters within the waters of said county, not
parcel of any creek or river, subject to such

by the County Commissioners relating thereto,
with scoop, drag or dredge, which license
shall hold good for one season only, and shall
only authorize the catching of oysters be-
tween the first day of October in any year,
and the first day of April next succeeding, on
which last mentioned day the dredging season
shall close and end in said county, and said
license shall expire; which said license shall
specify the kind of vessel to be used, the
number thereof and the name, (if any), of the
canoe or other vessel on which the said license
