take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 474.

AN ACT to empower the Commissioners of the
town of Ocean City, Worcester county, to
extend the limits of said town.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Commissioners
of the town of Ocean City, Worcester county,

be and they are hereby empowered to extend
the bounds and limits of said town as follows,
to wit: Beginning for the northern portion
at a point on the Atlantic Ocean, being the
eastern end of the line of the lands conveyed
by Stephen Tobes to Hillary R. Pitts, Ben-
jamin Jones Taylor and George W. Purnell
Trustees, by deed dated July twenty-eighth,
eighteen hundred and seventy-six, and now
the northern limit of said town; thence by
and with the waters of the Atlantic Ocean,
one-half mile north of said north line; thence
westerly to the waters of Synepuxent bay ;
thence southerly by and with the waters of
said bay to the water's end of the aforesaid
north line; thence with the said north limit
to the beginning; and for the southern portion
of the extension of said town as follows, to wit :
Beginning on Synepuxent bay at the water's end

thence southerly by and with the waters of said
bay one-half mile south; thence easterly to the
Atlantic Ocean; thence northerly by and with
the Atlantic Ocean to the eastern end of the
present southern limits of said town; thence
westerly by said original southern boundary
