SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Board
of Police Commissioners be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to construct, equip
and maintain a telephone alarm and patrol
wagon service with all necessaries, appliances

and laborers; provided, however, the expendi-
tures therefor will not impair said fund so as to
prevent its sufficient application to the pur-
poses provided for in the foregoing section,
and in previous acts of the General Assembly.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted. That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 460.
AN ACT to amend section forty-two of article
forty-six of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled " Licenses," as amended by chapter
forty-nine of the acts of eighteen hundred
and sixty-two, and by chapter three hundred
and forty-nine of the acts of eighteen hun-
dred and eighty.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That from and after the
passage of this act it shall not be necessary for
non-resident traveling salesmen,or sample mer-
chants, or the representative of foreign mer-

cantile or manufacturing firms or corporations,
as such to take out a license in order to make
sales to licensed merchants or solicit orders
from licensed merchants in this State.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
