LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 456.

AN ACT to repeal chapter two hundred and
ninety-nine of the acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland passed at the session of
eighteen hundred and eighty-four, entitled
an act authorizing the Governor to appoint
General Measurers of Oysters for the State
of Maryland, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Governor, at
each session of the General Assembly, shall ap-
point for the city of Baltimore five persons,
and one for each of all the other ports or towns

of this State bordering on the Chesapeake bay
or any of the tributaries thereto, to be known
as the " General Measurer of Oysters" for the
city, town or port for which he shall be ap-
pointed, and all of whom shall give bond to
the State of Maryland in the sum of three
thousand dollars for the faithful performance
of his duties.

Have power.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the General
Measurers of Oysters thus appointed shall have
the same power over oysters sold in the waters
adjacent to the port for which he shall have
been appointed as are hereinafter given to said
General Measurer of Oysters over such port.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the city of
Baltimore shall be divided into five districts
as follows: Number One, extending from Lo-
cust Point to the intersection of Light and Lee
streets; Number Two, from the intersection
