Purchase of
fire hose.
|
Works of this State be and they are hereby
authorized to purchase a quantity of cotton or
other fire hose, not to exceed one thousand
feet, for the protection of the State property in
Annapolis against fire.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That for this pur-
pose, the sum of nine hundred dollars, or so

|
|
Appropriation.
|
much thereof as shall be required, is hereby
appropriated, which shall be paid by the Treas-
urer upon the warrant of the Comptroller, and
when the said purchase of fire hose is made,
the said Board is hereby authorized to place
the same where it will be best preserved and
accessible when needed.
|
|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 433.
AN ACT to prevent vehicles in Baltimore
city from delivering ice in any quantity to
the inhabitants thereof on the Sabbath day.
|

Not to carry
ice on Sunday.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That no vehicle of any
description shall be permitted to carry ice
upon the streets or highways of Baltimore
city, for the purposes of selling the same, on
the Sabbath day commonly called Sunday.
|
|
|
Penalty for
violation.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if any per-
son or corporation be found guilty of causing
or in any way contributing to the violation of
the previous section, he shall be subjected to
fine of not more than fifty dollars, in the dis-
cretion of the court.
|
|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
