HENRY LLOYD, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR
CHAPTER 431.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore to cause the
houses on all the streets, lanes and alleys of
Baltimore city to be re-numbered, and to
assess and collect the cost of the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore be and they are hereby

authorized and empowered to cause the houses
on the streets, lanes and alleys of Baltimore
city to be numbered by the decimal system ;
provided, however, that the cost of such num-
bering shall not exceed twenty-five cents for
each number.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore be and they

are hereby authorized and empowered to assess
the owner of each house so re-numbered the
cost of such re-numbering; and it shall have
power to collect such assessment in same man-
ner as other tazes are collected.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 432.
AN ACT to authorize the Board of Public
Works of this State- to purchase fire hose
for the better protection of the State prop-
erty at Annapolis, and to appropriate a sum
of money necessary therefor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Board of Public
