LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 425.

AN ACT making appropriations for the sup-
port of the State government for the fiscal
year ending on the thirtieth day of Septem-
ber, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of 'Maryland, That for the expendi-
tures in the support of the State government

Appropriation

for the fiscal year beginning with the first day
of October, eighteen hundred and eighty-six,
and ending with the thirtieth day of Septem-
ber, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, the
following sums of money, or so much thereof
as may be necessary, be and the same are
hereby appropriated, that is to say :

FOR STATE OFFICERS.

For the salary of the Governor, four thousand
five hundred dollars; for the salary of the Secre-
tary of State, two thousand dollars; for the
salary of the Messenger of the Governor, one
thousand dollars; for the salary of the Comp-
troller of the Treasury, two thousand and five
hundred dollars; for the salary of the Chief
Clerk to the Comptroller, eighteen hundred dol-
lars; for the salary of three Assistant Clerks to
the Comptroller, twelve hundred dollars each —
three thousand six hundred dollars, and for
extra clerical services, four hundred dollars ;
for the salary of the Treasurer, two thousand

and five hundred dollars; for the salary of the
Chief Clerk to the Treasurer, eighteen hun-
dred dollars; for the salary of two Assistant
Clerks to the Treasurer, each twelve hundred
dollars, making twenty-four hundred dollars ;
for the salary of State Tax Commissioner, two
thousand five hundred dollars; for salary of
one Clerk to State Tax Commissioner, twelve
hundred dollars; for the salary of State Libra-
rian, fifteen hundred dollars; for the salary of
the Commissioner of the Land Office, fifteen
hundred dollars; for the salary of one Clerk
