LAWS OF MARYLAND.

submit the question and to grant another elec-
tion, in order that it may be definitely deter-
mined by ballot whether Local Option shall
exist as it now does in said precinct; there-
fore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the question whether
or not any person or persons, house, corpora-
tion, company or association may be permitted
to sell any spirituous, fermented or intoxicat-
ing liquors of whatever origin, or alcoholic
bitters at any time, in said First Precinct of
said Fifth Election District of Anne Arundel
county, shall be submitted to the registered
and qualified voters of said precinct, on Wed-
nesday, the twenty-eighth day of April, eigh-

teen hundred and eighty-six, which election
shall be held in accordance with the law gov-
erning general elections in this State, and the
Sheriff of said county, shall give notice of time
and purpose of said election by advertisement
inserted in all the newspapers published in.
said county, and by handbills posted in the
said First Precinct of the said Fifth District,
at least ten days before the said election, in
which notice a copy of this act shall be in-
serted; and the expenses of said election, in-
cluding the advertisement and handbills afore-
said, shall be levied by the Commissioners and
paid by the Treasurer of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That ballots for
or against such sale, shall have printed or
written on them the words, "For license to sell
spirituous or fermented liquors or alcoholic

bitters," or "Against license to sell spirituous
or fermented or alcoholic bitters," and the bal-
lots so cast shall be carefully counted by the
Judges of said Election, and the return Judges
shall make a return of said votes to the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel county,
and said Clerk shall immediately make proc-
lamation of the result of said election.
