ro- enacted.

eighteen hundred and eighty-four, and en-
titled an act to permit the catching of terrapins
in the waters of the Patuxent river and its-
tributaries lying within the counties of Cal-
vert, St. Mary's and Charles, be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows :

SEC. 2. And be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That on and after the

passage of this act, it shall be lawful for the
bona fide citizens of Calvert, St. Mary's and
Charles counties, to catch terrapins in the
waters of said counties, between the first day
of October in each and every year, until the
first day of June next succeeding.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That none but
bona fide citizens of Calvert, St. Mary's and
Charles counties, shall catch terrapins in the
waters of said counties.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That any person
or persons violating the above sections of this,
act, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof before any Jus-
tice of the Peace for Calvert, St. Mary's and

Misdemeanor.

Charles counties, shall be fined not less thai*
five, nor more than two hundred dollars, one-
half to be paid to the informer, and the other
to the County Commissioners of the county.

isdiction and trying the case, is a resident, for
the use and benefit of Public Schools of said
county.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the boat and,
seine or any other instrument used by or found
in the possession of any person or persons
violating the preceding sections of this act-
shall be responsible for the aforesaid fine.

Effective.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
