dians, the passage of this bill having been
recommended by the officers of the Treasury
Department of this State.

take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 325.
AN ACT to add an additional section to art-
icle two of the Code of Public Local Laws,
entitled " Washington County, " sub-title
" County Commissioners, " to be called sec-
tion eighty-seven.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That an additional sec-
tion be added to the Code of Public Local
Laws, entitled "Washington county," sub-title
"County Commissioners," to read as follows :

SECTION 87. The County Commissioners are
authorized and empowered to offer a reward
for the arrest and conviction of criminals for
offences committed within said county when-
ever in their judgment the nature and charac-
ter of the offence will warrant it, and to levy
upon the assessed property of the county to
pay the same; provided, however, that the
reward to be paid in any one case shall not
exceed one hundred dollars.
