CHAPTER 247.
AN ACT to make valid the election of Town
Commissioners of Greensborough, held in
June, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, and
to legalize their acts.
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the election held

June, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, to
elect Town Commissioners of Greensborough,
be and the same is hereby made valid, and
that their acts are hereby made legal.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 248.
AN ACT to regulate the sale of spirituous, fer-
mented and intoxicating liquors in Washing-
ton county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That it shall not be law-
ful for any person to sell spirituous, fermented
or intoxicating liquors in Washington county,
until he shall comply with the following con-
ditions: First, the person proposing to sell any
liquors as aforesaid in said county, shall file
with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Washing-
ton county, a written application for a license,

signed by himself or herself , and sworn to before
the said Clerk or some other person authorized
to administer an oath, stating his or her full
name, age and place of residence; the exact
locality designated, with particularity where
the proposed place of sale is situated; the name
of the owner or lessor of the house; whether
said liquors are to be sold in quantities less or
