the act passed at the January session of eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-six, chapter one
hundred and seventy-nine, entitled an act to
repeal sections fifty-five to sixty-four, inclu-
sive, of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore

county, entitled "Collector," and sections sev-
enty-eight to ninety, inclusive, entitled "Treas-
urer," and also to repeal section ten of the act
passed January session, eighteen hundred and
seventy-eight, entitled an act to repeal sections
three, four, five, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen
and fourteen of an act passed at the January
session of eighteen hundred and seventy-six,
chapter one hundred and seventy-nine, entitled
an act to repeal sections fifty-five to sixty-four,
inclusive, of the Public Local Laws of Balti-
more county, entitled "Collectors," and sec-
tions seventy-eight to ninety, inclusive, entitled
"Treasurer and Collector," and to repeal sec-
tion twelve of chapter one hundred and ninety-
six, acts of eighteen hundred and eighty, en-
titled an act to amend the Public Local Laws
of Baltimore county, article three, sub-title
"Treasurer and Collector," by repealing and re-
enacting section twelve of the act passed at the
January session, eighteen hundred and seventy-
eight, chapter four hundred and ninety-four,
and by adding an additional sub-section to
section fourteen of said act, and to re-enact
the same with amendments so as to read as
follows :

Repealed and

re-enacted.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That he shall ap-
point such clerks as may be found necessary
to the proper discharge of the duties of his
office, and that he shall be allowed for such
clerks' hire the sum of two thousand dollars
per annum.

Salary.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That nothing
contained in section nine of this act shall be
held to apply to State taxes; that it shall be
the duty of the Treasurer to attend in person
or by deputy in each election district, at least
one day between the first day of August and
