duty of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Charles county to index in a well bound book
suitable for the purpose, after the method
known as the "Campbell system," all deeds
thereafter deposited in his office for record,
for which service he shall be allowed the
same compensation as is now allowed by sec-
tion ten of article thirty-eight of the Code of
Public General Laws for making alphabets
and lists of transfers of property, said fee or
compensation to be paid by the grantee in the
deed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 32.
AN ACT to repeal section one hundred and
ninety-three of article three of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Baltimore county,"
sub-title "Sheriff," and sub-sections one and
two of said act, passed at the January session
of the Legislature, in the year eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-four, chapter four hundred
and nine, and to re-enact the same so as to
read as follows :
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That section one hun-
dred and ninety-three of article three of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore county,

sub-title "Sheriff," and sub-sections one and
two of said act, passed at the January session
of the Legislature of Maryland, in the year
eighteen hundred and seventy-four, chapter
four hundred and nine, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows :
