PIENRY LLOYD, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

complete the collection of State and county
taxes of Prince George's county, be and he
is hereby authorized to employ a Clerk for the
period of one year; and the said County Com-
missioners are hereby authorized and directed
to levy the sum of five hundred dollars at
their next annual levy for county taxes, to pay
said Clerk hire.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 234.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore county to appoint two
additional Constables for the Ninth Elec-
tion District of Baltimore county, one of
whom shall be appointed for and from the
village of Towsontown, and shall be also a
special officer of the village.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore county be and they
are hereby authorized and directed to appoint
two additional Constables for the Ninth Elec-


tion District of Baltimore county, for the Third
Election Precinct, one of whom shall be ap-
pointed from and for the village of Towson-
town, and shall be also a special officer of the
village, shall be required to uniform himself
and shall act as a night officer, going on duty
at eleven o'clock, p. m., and remaining until
five o'clock, a. m.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the pay of the
Constable who shall be a special officer for the
village of Towsontown, shall be twenty-five
dollars per month and such fees as he may
earn in the discharge of his duty as Constable.
