CHAPTER 219.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County
Commissioners of Caroline county to ap-
propriate a sum of money annually, to assist
the incorporated towns in said county to
improve and keep in repair the road-beds of
said towns.

WHEREAS the citizens of the several incor-
porated towns in Caroline county are taxed
annually for county purposes; and
|
Preamble.
|
|
|
WHEREAS the said towns have no benefit of
the said taxes in the improvements and repair
of the public streets thereof; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the County Com-
missioners of Caroline county be and are

hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to appropriate annually, and pay over to the
Town Commissioners, or a majority of them,
of the several incorporated towns in said
county, a sum of money in their judgment
sufficient to assist in improving and repairing
the road-beds of said towns.

To repair
streets.

|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or
parts of acts inconsistent with this act be
and are hereby repealed.
|
Repeal.
|
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this
act shall take effect from and after the date of
its passage.
