CHAPTER 200.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County-
Commissioners of Somerset county to sell
and convey the present Alms House prop-
erty in Somerset county, and to purchase and
improve any other property in said county
for the keeping and use of paupers in said
county, which they may select for that pur-
pose.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the County Com-
missioners of Somerset county be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to sell the
present Alms House property in said county,

and to convey the same to any purchaser or
purchasers at a price agreed on by said County
Commissioners by a good and sufficient deed
of the County Commissioners of said county
at the time of said sale, acknowledged as pro-
vided for acknowledgments of deeds of cor-
porations, and duly recorded in the office of the
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Somerset county,
and the said deed shall be valid and effectual
to pass a good title to said purchaser or pur-
chasers.

SEC. 2 Be it enacted, That the said County
Commissioners of Somerset county are hereby

authorized to contract for the purchase and
procure a deed for some suitable place to be
used as an Alms House for said county, and
to pay for and improve the same for keeping
and use of the paupers of the said county.

Effective.

SEC. 3. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
