HENRY LLOYD, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR

and shall have the same recorded in the office
of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore
county, as the corporate limits of the said town
of Catonsville.

SEC. 4. And lie it enacted, That whenever any
person or persons owning land adjacent to the
corporate limits of the said town of Catons-
ville, desire that said limits shall be so ex-
tended as to embrace his, her or their lands,
the said person or persons shall express the
same to the Commissioners of Catonsville by
petition; and if any of said land or lands is

laid off in lots, streets and alleys, a majority
of those persons owning said lots bounding
on one or more streets or alleys, may express
by petition to the said Commissioners their
desire to have said lots, streets and alleys em-
braced in the corporate limits of the town
aforesaid.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That in the event
of a petition being made to the Commissioners
of Catonsville, as aforesaid, by any person or

persons, as provided for in the preceding sec-
tion, then the said Commissioners shall sub-
mit the matters, as expressed in the petition,
to the qualified voters of the said town of
Catonsville, at an election to be held for that
purpose, of which at least ten days' notice shall
be given, when, if it shall appear that a ma-
jority of the legal and qualified voters voting
at said election are in favor of so extending
the limits of the said town of Catonsville, so
as to take into the corporate bounds thereof
the land or lands so petitioned for, then the
said Commissioners of Catonsville shall cause
a survey and plat of said lands, lots, streets
and alleys to be made, and shall have the same
recorded in the office of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Baltimore county, as an ad-
dition to the corporate limits of said town ;
and the said lands, lots, streets and alleys, and
the inhabitants thereof, so embraced within
the corporate limits of said town, shall be
subject to all the laws and by-laws governing
the said town.
