Misdemeanor.

pollute or render impure any of the said waters
by placing foul substances or nuisances therein,
they shall forfeit and pay the damages sus-
tained therein, to be recovered with costs of
suit in the name of the said company, before
any Court of Justice or Justice of the Peace
having cognizance thereof.

Effective.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 101.

AN ACT to repeal sections eleven, twelve and
fourteen, of chapter thirty-six, of the acts of
eighteen hundred and seventy-two, entitled
"An act to add a new article to the Code of
Public General Laws, regulating the inspec-
tion of tobacco, and to repeal section twenty,
of said act, as the same was amended by
chapter two hundred and twenty-eight, of
the acts of eighteen hundred and seventy-
two, entitled an act to repeal and re-enact
section twenty of an act passed at the present
session of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, entitled an act to regulate the inspec-
tion of tobacco," and to re-enact the same
with amendments, and to add certain new-
sections to said article.
