AN ACT to repeal and re-enact chapter fifty of the

acts of eighteen hundred and eighty, entitled "An
|
|
|
|
act to require the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
|
|
|
|
Washington county to prepare and make a general
|
|
|
|
index to the Land Records of Washington County
|
|
|
|
prior to the year eighteen hundred and thirty-six,
|
|
|
|
and to prepare and keep a general index of all
|
|
|
|
judgments recovered and recorded in said court."

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That chapter fifty of the acts of eigh-
|
|
|
|
teen hundred and eighty, entitled "An act to require
|
|
|
|
the clerk of the circuit court for Washington county
|
|
|

and re-enacted

to prepare and make a general index to the land rec-

in lien thereof.

in said court," be and the same is hereby repealed,

and the following enacted in lieu thereof:

SEC. 2. The clerk of the circuit court for Washing-
|
|
|
|
ton county is hereby authorized and directed to pre-

ginning with the year eighteen hundred and seventy,

in the name of each defendant in said judgments, but

also showing the plaintiff or plaintiffs, the amount of

the judgment, the date of signing or recording, the
|
|
|
|
date from which it bears interest, the term of court,
|
|
|
|
and the number on the docket; and if the records of
|
|
|
|
the court show the same has been satisfied, made or
|
|
|
|
in any way discharged, the said index shall set forth
|
|
|
|
the said fact; and the clerk shall hereafter continue
|
|
|
|
to index all judgments recovered or recorded in said
|
|
|
|
court in the manner above set forth.
