SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

Chapter 331.


AN ACT to give the consent of the state to a grant


by the Visitors and Governors of St John's College


of a lot of ground, part of the College campus, or


to the grant of any other lot within the corporate


limits of the city of Annapolis which may be se-


lected by the United States authorities, not exceed-


ing fifty feet square, to the United States of America


for the purpose of erecting thereon a statue to the


memory of Baron De Kalb, and to cede to the


United States of America jurisdiction over the same.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That the consent of the State of Mary-


land is hereby given to the grant by the visitors and


governors of St. John's College to the United States


of America of a lot of ground, part of the college

campus, in the city of Annapolis, or to the grant of


any other lot of ground within the corporate limits of


the city of Annapolis, to which the United States may


acquire a title, not exceeding fifty feet square, for the


purpose of erecting thereon a statue to the memory


of Baron De Kalb.


SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That jurisdiction


over either of said lots of ground, after the same shall


have been lawfully conveyed to the United States of


America, be and it is hereby ceded, released and re-


linquished to the United States of America, provided

that all civil and such criminal process as may issue


under the authority of this State against any person or


persons charged with crimes and misdemeanors com-


mitted without either of the said lots of ground may


be executed therein in the same manner as though the


cession had never been made and granted, and that
