AN ACT to revive and create the Woodland Bridge
|
|
|
|
Company, with all the rights, privileges and powers
|
|
|
|
conferred upon it by chapter eighty-five of the acts
|
|
|
|
of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at
|
|
|
|
January session, in the year eighteen hundred and
|
|
|
|
fifty-four, entitled "An act to incorporate a com-
|
|
|
|
pany to erect a bridge over the Patuxent river, be-
|
|
|
|
tween Anne Arundel and Prince George's coun-
|
|
|
|
ties," amended by chapter two hundred and ninety-
|
|
|
|
eight of the acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
|
|
|
|
land, passed at the January session, in the year
|
|
|
|
eighteen hundred and seventy-six, entitled "An act
|
|
|
|
to repeal, amend and re-enact section four of the
|
|
|
|
acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed
|
|
|
|
at the January session, in the year eighteen hundred
|
|
|
|
and fifty-four, chapter eighty-five, entitled 'An act
|
|
|
|
to incorporate a company to erect a bridge over the
|
|
|
|
Patuxent river, between Anne Arundel and Prince
|
|
|
|
George's counties.' "

|
|
|
WHEREAS the Woodland Bridge Company, incorpo-
|
|
|
|
rated by an act of the General Assembly of Mary-
|
|
|
|
land, passed at the January session, in the year eigh-
|
|
|
|
teen hundred and fifty-four, chapter eighty-five, entitled
|
|
|
|
"An act to incorporate a company to erect a bridge
|
|
|
|
over the Patuxent river, between Anne Arundel and
|
|
|
|
Prince George's counties," did not organize on or
|
|
|
|
before the tenth day of April next ensuing the pas-
|
|
|
|
sage of said act, as required by the provisions of said
|
|
|
|
act, and William B. Hill, by virtue of the authority
|
Preamble.
|
|
|
conferred on him by said act, on said defalcation of
|
|
|
|
organization of the Woodland Bridge Company, built
|
|
|
|
and maintained the bridge, causeways and roads au-
|
|
|
|
thorized in said act; and whereas, owing to the
|
|
|
|
destruction of the said bridge by the recent floods,
|
|
|
|
the said William B. Hill is willing to sell the rights,
|
|
|
|
privileges and property he now has in said bridge,
|
|
|
|
causeways and roads, to the Woodland Bridge Com-
|
|
|
|
pany, to be revived by this act, the Patuxent river
|
|
|
